Set Of Four Wrought-iron Chairs

An elegant set of four ivory-lacquered wrought-iron chairs, attributed to the French interior designer René Prou (1887–1947), a leading figure in Parisian decorative refinement during the interwar period.
These pieces captivate with the great finesse of their design, combining the geometric precision of Art Deco with a subtly reinterpreted neoclassical inspiration. The openwork backs reveal a pattern of symmetrical volutes centered around a twisted motif, while the twisted iron legs end in delicate, coiled finials, lending the set a remarkable visual lightness.
The perforated sheet-metal seat and the particularly airy structure evoke the high-end pieces created for villas, winter gardens, and elegant residences of the 1930s and 1940s.
The quality of the ironwork, as well as the decorative style employed, bring this set closer to the creations of René Prou and the great Parisian interior designers of that period.
A rare and decorative set, emblematic of French Art Deco taste, straddling the line between interior furnishings and luxury garden furniture.
