Corozo Snuffbox With A Neuburger & Cie. Paris Watch Embedded In A Gentleman Figure

Rare corozo snuff box representing a standing gentleman transformed into a table clock.

The enamel dial of 1,9 cm with Roman numerals is signed Neuburger & Cie Paris.

The hands are made of blued steel. The brass movement is powered by a spring barrel and has a one-day duration. It is regulated by a tic-tac escapement combined with a front balance. The brass support connecting the movement to the case is signed Neuburger Paris.

The dial is placed in the belly of a well-sculpted gentleman made of corozo, wearing a bowler hat. The back of the figure has a hinged panel that provides access to the movement. The whole piece rests on an octagonal base.

Note: The clock has a one-day movement. Use the key to wind the clock. Open the back of the Gentleman and gently wind the arbors. Do not force them. Gently push the pendulum so that it begins to swing. You can set the time by gently turning the minute hand clockwise, never anticlockwise. It may be helpful to use a toothpick.
