The painting is an important historical and iconographic record of Bartolomeo Pesenti, a native of Verona who belonged to a family originally from Bergamo and who was a founder of weapons and bells in the 17th century.
The main bell, located in Bergamo’s civic tower, is the work of Pesenti, who cast it in 1655. Another bell by Pesenti can be found in the Church of Sant’Anastasia in Verona.
