A rare bronze cast produced and cast for Antoine-Louis Barye by the foundry De Braux d’Anglures (marked De Braux frères).
Dimensions: 113 x 58 x h. 110 mm.
Exhibiting superb craftsmanship, this antique cast features the patina, assembly method, and chiseling characteristic of this renowned workshop, known for its early collaboration with Barye in the early 1840s.

This piece dates from the period of the “Artist’s Proofs and First Editions " (1838–1845), a time when Barye, acting as his own publisher (and sometimes his own foundryman), distributed his creations directly or through dealers.
