Rare commode stool, derived from a light-wood “indigenous” bedroom piece. Quadrangular in shape, resting on four small, molded square legs. Molded front panel with an elm back and contrasting trim. Smooth sides, rough-hewn back, with visible dovetail joints. Upholstered top, hinged. It reveals a lid into which a chamber pot could be placed.
Condition report: home-use condition, varnish refreshed, Prelle silk upholstery with signs of use.
