JEAN IPOUSTÉGUY (1920–2006)Large bronze sculpture – One-of-a-kind piece 1/1 – 1984 – Cast by Blanchet

(Please feature the first image as the cover photo, followed by the other detailed views, and finally the photo of the signature, as you did in your previous listings.)

Exceptional bronze sculpture by the great French sculptor Jean Ipoustéguy, signed and dated 1984, cast by the prestigious Blanchet Foundry.

This work, with its powerful sculptural presence, perfectly illustrates Ipoustéguy’s artistic vocabulary, in which geometric forms, organic volumes, and symbolism intertwine. A bronze sphere, elements evoking petals or wings, a pyramid, and jagged forms come together in a powerful composition that is both architectural and poetic.

The quality of the casting is remarkable, with a superb patina nuanced with antique green and brown, highlighting the reliefs and the various textures of the sculpture.

The bronze bears the signature IPOUSTEGUY, the date 84, the mark of Fondeur Blanchet, and the number 1/1, indicating a one-of-a-kind piece, a feature particularly sought after by collectors.

Jean Ipoustéguy is considered one of the greatest French sculptors of the second half of the 20th century. His work is held in the most important public collections and international museums, notably at the Centre Pompidou, in Berlin, London, Tokyo, and Washington.
