Frank-will, View Of A Harbor, Watercolor, First Half Of The 20th Century

Frank-Will (1900–1950), whose real name was Frank William Boggs, was a French watercolorist. The son of painter Frank Myers Boggs, he quickly turned to an artistic career and produced his first works as early as 1916. The following year, he met Gen Paul, and they regularly painted views of Paris together. Normandy and port cities were also major sources of inspiration for Frank-Will, who ran a small gallery with his wife in Le Tréport, where he sold his watercolors during the summer season. Later, he moved back into his father’s former studio on Boulevard de Clichy and, while devoting himself to painting, immersed himself in the bohemian life of Montmartre, which would ultimately take a toll on his health. Recognized during his lifetime, he exhibited notably at the Galerie Georges Petit in the 1920s.

In good overall condition.
Dated to the first half of the 20th century.
