The white marble clock features a dial with Roman numerals on an enameled circle.
Above the clock, the muse sits studying the celestial sphere with a compass. Behind her, a long scroll is unrolled; in front of her lies a stack of books.
A decorative motif on the clock depicts a cherub looking through a telescope.

The clock is presented in its original gilding.
