Charming Late 18th-Century George III Oak & Inlaid Corner Cupboard

A particularly handsome late 18th-century George III-period oak and inlay corner cupboard with classic country house character.
The upper section features an impressive 18-pane astragal-glazed door, which opens to reveal a beautifully painted blue interior with two shaped, fixed shelves—ideal for displaying glassware, ceramics, or treasured decorative pieces. Below, a blind two-door cupboard encloses a single fitted shelf, offering practical, concealed storage.
Of typical Georgian form, the cupboard stands on its original bracket feet and retains its original back boards, boasting a superb, untouched color and rich patina throughout. The molded oak-paneled doors are finely detailed with satinwood and ebony stringing and constructed using traditional pin-joint construction, reflecting the meticulous craftsmanship of the period. A well-proportioned molded cornice with an attractive ogee profile crowns the piece, giving it a truly architectural presence.
The cupboard can be separated into two sections for ease of transport and installation. Recently cleaned and wax-polished in our workshops, it is offered in excellent condition and ready for display. This charming late 18th-century oak corner cupboard is more than just a functional storage piece: it is a testament to the enduring quality, beauty, and warmth of English Georgian country furniture, bringing both elegance and authenticity to any interior.
