An elegant pair of monumental French Empire-style candelabra, attributed to the renowned Parisian bronze artist Claude Galle (1759–1815), the undisputed master of decorative bronze work in the early 19th century. The candelabra feature a refined neoclassical female figure, inspired by ancient iconography, crafted in dark-patinated bronze and embellished with finely chiseled and gilded details.
The figures support a five-light structure in gilded bronze, characterized by sinuous arms decorated with plant motifs and rich ornamental elements in the classical style. The architectural bases, also decorated with gilded lyre motifs, lend the ensemble great compositional balance and exceptional visual impact.
