Glazed Ceramic Pitcher By Roger Capron
Roger Capron, Vallauris, (1922–2006).
An elegant and rare glazed ceramic pitcher created by Roger Capron in his Vallauris studio; Capron was one of the leading figures in French ceramics during the second half of the 20th century.
This piece stands out for its particularly expressive silhouette, with supple and balanced lines. Its wide, asymmetrical spout is extended by a spectacular volute handle, giving the piece a decidedly sculptural character. The decoration, entirely hand-painted, combines stylized plant-inspired motifs in a harmonious palette of blue, olive green, black, and cream—typical of Capron’s creations during the 1950s and 1960s.
