History of the 196 1/2
The Fischel company was selected in 1931 to supply 1,500chairs, model 196 ½: “This chair will be stained mahogany, and the seats in a deep shade, in accordance with the model presented tothe architect.”
After the International Colonial Exhibition, these chairs wereused throughout the museum, particularly in thereading room of the Laprade Library.
