19th-century Victorian Period Mahogany Revolving Bookcase
Stunning Two-Tiered Mahogany Revolving Bookcase, 19th Century
A very beautiful 19th-century rotating bookcase in mahogany, with openwork slatted sides, topped by a square solid mahogany shelf with a molded edge. It features two levels of shelving, each divided into four sections by solid mahogany vertical posts running from the top to the base, secured with brass nails. The entire piece rests on crossed crossbars and a swivel base framed in iron with iron trim, finished with ceramic casters.
The bookcase boasts a superb original color and patina. As for its condition, it is in excellent original condition, with a rich patina on the solid mahogany that attests both to the quality of its craftsmanship and the care it has received over the years. The flamed mahogany veneer features warm, deep hues that enhance its visual appeal.
This tall bookcase is not only a remarkable testament to the exceptional craftsmanship of the early Victorian era but also a beautiful example of classic design, making it an ideal piece for any refined interior.
