A beautiful view of the Basilica della Salute seen from the opposite bank of the Grand Canal.
The magnificent scene is rendered with extraordinary finesse, both in the depiction of the architecture and in the meticulous portrayal of typical Venetian figures and boats. The influence of the great landscape painter Francesco Guardi is evident in one of the city’s most iconic scenes.
The artist, endowed with exceptional painting technique, perfectly emulates the lively and precise style of the Great Master, capturing his artistic characteristics while adding a more personal color palette. Paintings signed by ZANETTI are quite rare, but all are distinguished by excellent attention to detail in the characteristic style of Venetian painting.
The painting is in excellent condition, with no restoration work, and was executed on a panel covered with a very fine-weave canvas. The carved wooden frame is the original one.
