Georges (Geo) Geirnaert was a Belgian artist, born and died in Ghent (1874–1955). He was a painter, draftsman, lithographer, engraver, and sculptor. He studied at the Ghent Academy beginning in 1890 under Canneel, Jan Delvin, and Louis Van Biesbroeck. He painted and drew nudes, portraits, luminous landscapes, forest scenes, and seascapes. As a sculptor, he created, among other works, busts, figures, and nudes. He was also a gifted pianist. He came from a family of lithographers. His father, Louis, had founded a printing shop in 1842, and upon his death in 1887, Georges—then under the age of fourteen—had to take over the business. He often exhibited alongside his daughter, Marie-Louise (Miton). He is mentioned in “Deux siècles de signatures d’artistes belges” (Piron)
