The Virgin Mary is depicted in a moment of deep devotion, with her hands clasped over her chest in a prayerful posture and her gaze turned upward to symbolize her purity and her direct connection with the divine.

Mary rests her feet on a large blue-green sphere representing the world—an element that symbolizes the Virgin’s triumph over earthly sin.

At the base of the globe, two small heads of winged angels emerge, serving to support the Virgin.

The statue rests on a non-contemporary shelf, also made of gilded and carved wood.
