Anyz – Artex Budapest – Large pair of 835-th solid silver candelabras, Belgium, circa 1950

Spectacular pair of large five-light candelabras in 835-th solid silver, produced by Anyz – Artex Budapest, Belgian-made in the 1950s.

With an exceptional presence, these candelabra captivate with their monumental dimensions and rich Baroque-inspired decoration, featuring finely chased volutes, shells, and foliage. The elegantly curved arms frame a particularly slender central shaft, resting on an imposing scalloped base that ensures perfect stability.

One of the great attractions of this model lies in its modular design: the five-arm crown is fully detachable, allowing each candelabra to be transformed into an elegant, tall torch.

Unlike most models of this significance, which are often weakened by past restorations to the arms, this pair is in remarkable condition. The arms are entirely original, with no soldering or restoration, and exhibit excellent structural integrity.

Another particularly notable feature is that these candelabras are made entirely of solid silver, with no internal ballast. The shafts are hollow, in keeping with high-quality craftsmanship, which explains their already substantial combined weight of 5.492 kg for the pair.

With their imposing dimensions, fine craftsmanship, and elegance, these candelabras are prestigious pieces intended for grand reception tables or a refined interior.
