Artist: Gilles Lainé à Paris
A beautiful 18th-century table clock with an undulating shape. The case is finished in Martin varnish with floral decoration. Richly ornamented with chiseled and gilded bronze. The white enamel dial is signed by Gilles Lainé in Paris. He worked for the most prominent figures of the era, such as Prince Charles of Lorraine, the Marquis de Brunoy, the Prince of Condé, and Augustus II of Saxony. It displays the hours in Roman numerals and the minutes in Arabic numerals. Winding holes at four and seven o’clock; hands made of worked steel. Parisian movement with a Brocco suspension. Includes its lamp base, balance wheel, and winding key. The whole is topped with a fire pot. It likely needs a minor adjustment due to its transport; Louis XV period.
