Large Gilded Wooden Bed From The Louis XVI Period, 19th Century
Large gilded wooden bed in the Louis XVI style, 19th century.
In good condition for its age, with original gilding; some signs of wear (gilding has been touched up).
Upholstery is worn; fabric is stained and torn on the back (see photos).
Sturdy frame, assembled with set screws.
Dimensions:
Exterior: Height 145 at the head and 73 at the foot, width 160, length 208 cm
Interior of the frame: 197 x 150 cm
Width at the outside of the side rails: 158 cm
Outer length of the slats: 201 cm
This means that if the mattress is placed on top of the slats rather than inside them, it can measure 200 x 160 cm.
