A large, impressive folding screen made of black-lacquered wood, consisting of four hinged panels.
The front panel is adorned with a hand-painted design on a gold background depicting blooming peonies, a plum tree, birds, and pheasants in a traditional Chinese landscape. The frames feature rich decoration with foliage and floral motifs.
The reverse side is also entirely decorated with a composition featuring lotuses, waterfowl, and a lakeside landscape on a black background, making this screen a decorative piece that can be displayed on both sides.
