Marquetry Piece By Paul Spindler (1906-1980), Wasselonne, Circa 1930-1950
A marquetry depicting a view of Wasselonne, made between 1930 and 1950 by Paul Spindler (1906–1980). The scene shows a lane in Wasselonne enlivened by a group of young people standing near a flight of steps alongside a nun. The perspective is closed off by a church and its steeple. The work is signed “Spindler” in the lower right corner. The reverse bears the inscription “N° 230 Wasselonne 4”.
