17th-century Shell-hilted Sword
Iron knight's shell sword.
Oblong, basket-shaped guard made of wrought iron lacework (2 missing pieces).
Two coiled quillons made of wrought iron.
Straight blade with a colichemarde hilt featuring three fuller grooves followed by one, the latter openwork with perforations in the upper part of the central fuller groove.
The tang and pommel are engraved with foliage motifs (later addition).
Blade length: 87.5 cm; total length: 107 cm.
Guard dimensions: 11 cm by 7.8 cm
