An elegant mirror made of wood and stucco, richly gilded with gold leaf,dating from the late 19th century, around 1880.
It is distinguished by a rare, exotically inspired design featuringIndian women’s heads resting on seashells. The entire piece isabundantly adorned with acanthus leaves, scrollwork, volutes,flowers, and is topped by an elegant openwork pediment decorated witha trellis pattern.
The mirror panes are beveled and feature acentral frame with a row of pearls, lending great finesse tothe composition.
This mirror has retained its remarkable original gilding, which hassimply been lightly cleaned.
