Fish Set - Proceram - Aubagne - C. 1960.
A set of fine earthenware fish plates in almond green by the Procéram factory in Aubagne.
This set consists of:
-12 dinner plates (24.5 cm)
Featuring six different species of fish, including sea bream, John Dory, red mullet, red seabream, mackerel, and scorpionfish.
-1 sauceboat (13 cm with an 18 cm base)
Depicting a crab, a sea urchin, mussels, and a bouquet.
-1 large oval platter (60 x 24 cm)
Featuring a lobster and a spiny lobster.
Circa 1960.
Very good condition.
It is worth noting that this former flagship of Aubagne ceramics was founded in 1908 under the name “Société des Faïenceries d’Aubagne” (S.F.A.).
Briefly renamed Faïencerie Nouvelle de Provence between 1929 and 1938, it became known to posterity as Procéram starting in 1939 and ceased operations in 1977.
