Large 18th-century wrought-iron compass. Features a riveted square head with a shaft decorated with hearts and clovers; similar decoration on the other side of the compass. Squaring lines marked on the edge. The tips form an openwork heart-shaped design. Length: 68 cm. In good overall condition, with wear consistent with its age and use. See photos.
