Angélina Drumaux’s floral compositions are always bursting with color and freshness; her flowers are painted in full light. Very often surrounded by objects, books, and tablecloths, with a tapestry or window in the background that catches our eye.
This bouquet of peonies, harmoniously arranged in a blue vase, is painted with a sense of transparency, allowing the light to burst forth.
This painting was exhibited in 1947 at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris.
