Second Half Of The 20th Century Two Still Life Paintings By Fosco Pavi
Unique and elegant still life paintings by Fosco Pavi (1910-2007), a renowned Florentine painter who produced a renowned series of still lifes in the 1970s. Of the two paintings, the first stands out for its slightly larger dimensions and is an oil on canvas, housed in a carved wooden frame with a white fabric mat and covered with glass. The painting depicts fruit, including melons, peaches, and plums, a cabbage, and a crystal vase with flowers, arranged on a board. The artist's signature and the date, 1974, are also present at the bottom left. The second still life is depicted in oil on a panel, housed in a carved wooden frame (with minor defects), with a white fabric mat and covered with glass. Above a kitchen table with a tablecloth, there are apples, oranges, tomatoes, and a bird. Behind, between two copper pans, is a vase with small branches sprouting flowers. On the left, too, is the artist's signature, along with the date, in this case 1978. This pair of paintings exudes great taste and refinement, notable for their stylistic rendering and use of color, adding a touch of class to any space. Florentine artist Fosco Pavi, circa the second half of the 20th century.
