Kraak Plate With Geese
A blue and white porcelain plate in the Kraak style, made in Japan during the Edo period. The underside of the plate is decorated with blue plant motifs. The upper side, meanwhile, is adorned with a central scene depicting two geese by the water’s edge, set against a backdrop of lush vegetation. This central panel is framed by geometric motifs and cartouches on the rim of the plate, depicting plants and objects.
