Lamp By Aldo Nason
Artist: Aldo Nason
A very rare lamp design by Aldo Nason from the late 1960s. He is the brother of Carlo Nason, who is slightly better known than he is; both come from a family of Murano glassmakers, and their works are primarily produced by Mazzega. This lamp, set on a rather elaborate base made of chrome-plated and black metal, features a semi-tinted white, translucent, and slightly bubbled glass arch. Bubbled glass is one of Aldo’s specialties. Two light bulbs illuminate the two bases of the arch, producing a much less dazzling effect than the photo suggests. Note that one of the screws holding the arch in place is missing, but this is practically invisible and does not affect its stability in any way.
