"Art-déco Vase"
Magnificent Art Deco period vase in glazed ceramic by Louis Dage, partnered with Engène Val for the exquisite silver-plated bronze mount. This mid-1930s vase embodies all the hallmarks of Art Deco design, in its motifs, shape, and quality of the bronze. A very pretty and rare, highly decorative piece in perfect condition. Louis Dage, who first settled in Antony (near Paris), partnered with Jean de la Fontinelle, then with Eugé Val. He left Antony to settle in Saint-Sever in the Landes region. He was awarded the title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France in 1924 and participated in the decoration of the ocean liner Normandie in the early 1930s.
