Antique Chinese Bamboo Opium Pipe With A Paktong Saddle And Ceramic Budai Bowl

Antique Chinese opium pipe dating from the late Qing. dynasty.

The pipe is made from a natural section of bamboo and fitted with turned ivory mounts at each end. The central paktong (Chinese nickel silver) saddle is engraved with a traditional landscape incorporating cranes and pine trees.

The ceramic bowl is in the form of Budai, the Laughing Buddha.

Length: 58 cm.

Condition: Good condition. Hairline crack to the ivory mouthpiece and a hairline crack to the Budai bowl. Minor wear and patina consistent with age and use.
