Pair Of Art Deco Legras Vases Made Of Ouraline, Decorated With Stylized Forget-me-nots
A very rare pair of Legras vases decorated with a cascading design of three clusters of blue flowers with purple centers and side scrolls.
Conical in shape with a flared base, these vases feature a granulated base with acid-etched relief.
The flowers are highlighted with enamel.
The signature is in cameo: Legras
This form and contrasting decoration demonstrate Legras’s mastery during the Art Deco period (circa 1920)
The choice of a base material tinted with uranine (uranium salt, also known as “uranium glass”) gives them a luminosity that highlights the flowers.
The enamel and the pieces as a whole are in perfect condition.
This pair was found in an attic, where it had been forgotten for 100 years (see the condition before cleaning). We can assume it was a gift from a mother-in-law that had been left to gather dust, yet was preserved from any damage.
These vases, which have never been separated, have been brought back into the light to be appreciated once again after a thorough cleaning.
