Antique Scientific Instrument For Heat Experiments Called
Artist: Duboscq à Paris
This rare instrument is made by the prestigious "Duboscq" company, renowned for the quality and refinement of its craftsmanship. Mounted on a base with a height-adjustable column is a series of bimetallic strips enclosed by a cover that can be opened or closed using the appropriate screw. The head is articulated, allowing for the necessary adjustments to observe the light beam striking the metal strips. The effect of the photons will produce a weak electric current measured with an electroscope. A very fine burin engraving bears the manufacturer’s name and the serial number. A small window at the back allows you to view the interior. The use of materials such as ivory for insulation indicates that this instrument is very old, predating the advent of plastics such as ebonite. It shows various signs of oxidation, but the instrument is complete and in good condition—not tested.
