Antique studded collar for large dogs dating from the late 1800s.
A hand-engraved tag bears the owner’s name and location: “Francesco Wegmann—Medolla.”
We can trace this historic property to Medolla, a town located near Modena in Emilia-Romagna.
The Wegmann family owned the villa of the same name, which still stands today and dates back to the late 1500s.
The collar is in good condition and consists of a leather ring surrounded by another engraved and silver-plated brass ring.
It shows signs of oxidation and wear but is still in excellent condition.
