Art Deco desk set in yellow and black crackled ceramic; signature to be identified
Dimensions:
Largest piece (desk lamp): H. 35 cm
Set consists of 7 pieces
A beautiful Art Deco-style glazed ceramic desk or smoking set, consisting of a lamp, a vase, two planters or pot covers, a pyramidal inkwell, a pyramidal lid, and a trinket dish.
The set features a spectacular mustard-yellow glaze with a crackled finish accented by green hues, contrasting with black borders and bases.
The geometric shapes, particularly the tiered pyramids inspired by ancient Egypt, fully reflect the Art Deco style of the years 1925–1935.
The lamp retains its original electrical wiring.
Several pieces bear a molded or engraved signature beneath the base, making it difficult to attribute with certainty
This rare decorative set offers an interesting example of French decorative ceramics from the interwar period, comparable to works by Primavera, Kéramis, or certain regional workshops influenced by the Art Deco movement.
Period
Circa 1925–1935.
Condition
Good overall condition.
A few chips, signs of wear, small areas where the glaze is missing, and visible signs of use.
The original electrical wiring should be checked before use.
Materials
Crackled glazed ceramic; metal frame for the lamp.
