This watercolor depicts the Petit Palais as seen from the Champs-Élysées and was created by Henri Foreau, an artist who was a student and friend of Henri Harpignies. A renowned landscape painter, he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1888 to 1937 and also held solo exhibitions in Paris and abroad. He served as honorary president of the Société des Paysagistes Français.
