Pair Of Venetian Carved Walnut Armchairs. Venice, 18th Century.
Pair of Venetian carved walnut armchairs. Venice, 18th century.
50 x 62 x h 90 cm.
The two armchairs, datable to the fourth decade of the 18th century, are made of carved walnut in the Venetian Rococo taste of the period. The structure features a shaped back with a shell-carved crest rail, upholstered shaped armrests, and a generous seat on cabriole legs. The carving, distributed on the crest rail, seat rails, and legs, reflects the refined cabinetmaking production of the Venetian lagoon of the period.
