Libations Cup, 19th
A two-handled libation cup with silver-plated metal and a dolphin motif, a ritual object from French Freemasonry.
The hemispherical body rests on a fluted pedestal. The two dolphin-shaped handles feature chiseled scales and volute-shaped bodies.The body bears the inscription:
R∴ L∴ Les Arts Réunis Le Réveil Charollais Or∴ de Mâcon January 24, 5988
Marked with two hallmarks: the maker’s mark (a cup with the initials BR) and the fineness mark “89” in a rectangular cartouche.
