Vilhelm Christesen, Silver Tea Strainer
Piece by the Danish silversmith (1822–1899) active in Copenhagen, typical of the“Viking Revival” movement that emerged in several Scandinavian countries in the 19th century.
The stem is finished with “Old Norse” decoration, and the strainer is pierced with stylized hearts.
Hallmarks on the stem and bowl: maker’s mark, Simon Groth’s hallmark of guarantee, date and fineness mark for 1874.
