Soup Bowl Or Rare 18th-century Soup Bowl And Saucer Signed
Artist: Veuve Perrin
A charming piece: a rare soup tureen with handles, complete with its lid and bowl, decorated with wildflowers and bordered with gold-leaf friezes. Signed "VP" in red beneath the bowl, for Veuve Perrin in Marseille.
This is a large, beautifully proportioned soup tureen featuring a stunning design of wildflowers and borders adorned with gold-leaf friezes.
The handles are twisted and gilded in the style of leafy scrollwork.
The lid is superb, featuring a floral design of great finesse and a raised handle decorated with floral motifs, an olive branch with gilded leaves and olives.
The bowl is also in very good condition, featuring the same floral design and a gilded border.
Marked "VP" in red under the lid.
The set is in very good condition, with minor loss of gilding due to age.
A tiny restoration on the rim of the bowl, virtually invisible over a 2 mm area.
A small chip measuring 2 mm around the rim of the bowl.
The set rings and sounds very well.
A rare set consisting of a handled soup bowl, its lid, and its ladle, all in excellent condition, featuring a rustic design of brightly colored floral garlands of great finesse and gilding in good condition, all from the Louis XV period, mid-18th century.
A very beautiful collector's set.
Dimensions:
Broth bowl: 17 cm across the handles and 6 cm high
13 cm in diameter for the lid and 19 cm for the ladle.
