Galien Laloue - Oil On Canvas - 49 X 65 Cm - Lively Landscape
Artist: Eugène Galien Laloue (1854-1941)
Lovely landscape by Eugène GALIEN LALOUE, large in size, signed with his pseudonym "KERMAINGUY" (his oils are almost always signed with a pseudonym, Dupuy and Galiany being the best known, but also Lievin, Kermainguy, Lenoir, Michel and d 'others very little used).
We discover a woman, undoubtedly a mushroom picker, carrying baskets and walking on the edge of the forest, among boulders, a setting reminiscent of certain landscapes of the Fontainebleau forest.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Large format: 49 x 65 cm
- Clean painting, no cleaning required
Eugène GALIEN LALOUE was a prolific painter; while he is best known for his Parisian gouaches—which are highly sought after and can fetch tens of thousands of euros— he also painted a large number of landscapes and seascapes during his many travels throughout France.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: There are a large number of fake GALIEN-LALOUE works on the market, notably works by GODCHAUX, who sometimes painted similar subjects in a very similar style (forgers therefore add one of his pseudonyms...) as well as numerous oil paintings signed JULIANY and DUMOUTIER that are NOT by GALIEN-LALOUE!!! We are stunned to see that these forgeries are sold almost everywhere due to dishonesty or a lack of knowledge about the artist...
Oil on canvas
49 x 65 cm (with FREE 20th-century frame, approx. 79 x 64 cm)
Signed lower right "E.KERMAINGUY"
Very good overall condition, on its original canvas, clean work; note a small restoration and some repainting on the edges of the canvas, with no visual impact
Photos taken in natural light
