Evolution of the preparatory and/or corrective work for the edition of “the Description of Egypt or Collection of Observations and Research Conducted in Egypt During the French Expedition, Published by Order of His Majesty Emperor Napoleon the Great”.
The set includes 4 identical plates of Alexandria with variations:
- 1 undescribed etching: plate 341 or 39, vol. V (autograph),
- 1 etching with autograph location notes and mention of theartists: Balzac, Jomard, Protain: plate 341, A*,
- 1 etching with autograph title added
- 1 etching printed with title, location, details, and authors:plate 35, A* - volume V dated 10/18/1816.
