* LE ROUZIC René (1921–1973)In December 1941, he began as an apprentice at the HB pottery in Jean Caer’s workshop. He also benefited from the drawing and modeling classes that Victor Lucas, the new technical director of the major company since late March 1941, taught on Saturdays to the apprentices. Later, like other young artists, he seized the opportunity presented by the opening of a new pottery factory seeking designers. The conditions offered by Keraluc, including great creative freedom and generous pay, prompted him to leave HB in 1946 to rejoin Victor Lucas, who had resigned in March 1944. The HB pottery exhibited his creations alongside those of the other artists at the factory in July 1951 (seven pieces from this period are preserved by the Pottery Museum in Locmaria). He exhibited locally at several events, and the 15th Guilvinec Contemporary Art Fair organized by the Union des Arts Plastiques Bretons paid him a posthumous tribute during the summer of 1974.
