Photo Album, Japan, 19th–20th Century
A photo album with a wooden, inlaid binding. The decoration depicts a pair of birds perched on a branch of a flowering plum tree. Inside are stiff pages with slots for photographs. The pages are lined with silk painted with landscape and floral motifs characteristic of Japanese export albums from the turn of the Meiji and Taishō eras.
