Description:

A fine pair of Louis XVI era bergères, crafted from carved and lacquered beechwood, embody the elegance and refinement of late 18th-century French furniture. Their flat "chapeau de gendarme" backrests, characteristic of the style, are complemented by molded armrests. The cavetto supports rest on stops, while the flared seat rail is supported by tapered, fluted legs with rudded grooves, ending in rounded feet.

These bergères, French work from circa 1780, perfectly illustrate the transition to Neoclassicism, with clean lines and subtle yet sophisticated ornamentation. The original lacquer, though showing natural wear, enhances their authenticity.

They are currently upholstered in deep red velvet, adding a touch of luxury and warmth.
