Adoration Of The Shepherds - Venetian-cretan Artist Of The 17th Century
"Adoration of the Shepherds"
Venetian-Cretan artist
17th century
Oil on panel
Tabernacle frame
Panel: 32 x 38 cm
Frame: 47 x 62 cm
A splendid painting on panel depicting the charming and festive scene of the Adoration of the Shepherds, in the typical style of Venetian-Cretan art, where 16th-century Venetian painting by the Bassanos blends with Greco-Cretan culture.
It is a beautiful example of Venetian influence on its Mediterranean domains, which, with a particularly successful result, unites its own art with that of Byzantium.
Dating to the second half of the 17th century, it still retains the stylistic legacies of the previous century, and its excellent state of preservation—with vivid, perfectly preserved colors—allows for a clear appreciation of every detail.
A magnificent gilded and richly decorated tabernacle frame beautifully highlights the painting.
The work is in excellent condition, painted on a single panel of Mediterranean fir, and is completely free of unsightly cracks and warping.
We issue a stamped and signed certificate of authenticity guaranteeing the work’s period, provenance, and all its characteristics, drawn up by an antique dealer affiliated with FIMA (ITALIAN FEDERATION OF ART DEALERS).
Delivery in Italy and throughout Europe within 3 days of receiving the bank transfer.
Shipping is tracked and insured, and the artwork is shipped in carefully packed, shock-resistant packaging inside a custom-made wooden crate.
