Lovely early 20th-century piece of furniture made by the Maison Delvaux in Paris.
The Maison Delvaux is one of the leadingone of the great Parisian names specializing in decorative arts, porcelainporcelain and glassware, located at 18 rue Royale, in the 8ᵉ arrondissement of Paris, from the lateXIXᵉ century until the 1970s.
Initially, it was a retail store sellingporcelain, crystal, earthenware and decorative objects. Founded in the1880s, the company sold products from prestigioussuch as Baccarat, Haviland, the manufactures of Sèvres, Choisy-le-Roi andChoisy-le-Roi and Fontainebleau.From the 1920s onwards, the brand took a further stepnot only to resell objects, but to distribute creations under its ownunder its own "Delvaux" brand.
A decoration workshop was set up in theworkshop was set up in the store itself, staffed by decorators and artistsdecorators and artists specialized in glass and ceramics. Delvaux's collaborators included Jean Mayodon , Charles Schneider, Clément Massier, Albert Dammouse...
Unfortunately, we have not been able to identify the author or authors behind the "HUB LOY" signature.
