Post-Cubist oil by Normandy painter and sculptor Fernand Elie (1906-1992). Of Cauchois origin, Elie had a studio in his villa in Rouen, and his friends included Roger Tolmer and Reynold Arnould. He received numerous awards, including the Signature prize, as did Jef Friboulet, and exhibited notably at Galerie Suillerot in Paris.
