Moustiers Ferrat Pair Of Large Earthenware Dishes Rose Tulipe 18th Tulips 40 Cm
Pair of two large oval dishes in Moustiers earthenware, Ferrat factory, 18th century
The dishes feature an oval shape with scalloped rim, outlined with a yellow fillet around the rim. The decoration, painted in low-fire polychrome on a white background, features a large floral bouquet in the center, accompanied by flowers on the wings. The palette combines carmine pink, green, yellow and fine manganese strokes, in a light, elegant style typical of 18th-century southern production.
The decor is in the tradition of the Ferrat factory in Moustiers, renowned for its polychrome floral compositions, loose bouquets, open roses, floral buds and nervously painted foliage. The set retains a beautiful decorative freshness, with an airy layout, letting the white of the enamel breathe.
Beautiful scalloped form, the yellow edging, the finesse of the floral decoration and the small-fire polychromy orient form a beautiful decorative and collectible set.
Condition: good overall condition. Small chips around the rim, wear from use, light scratches and rubbing visible on the enamel. No cracks. No restoration. Old hanging threads on reverse. See photos.
