17th-century Marble Bust Of Brutus
Marcus Junius Brutus was not Julius Caesar’s natural son, but one of his most trusted associates, pardoned by the dictator after the civil war and later the leader of the conspiracy to assassinate him.
This statuary marble bust, part of a series (as the previous owner told me), once adorned a landing of a grand staircase. The bust has been professionally cleaned by marble restorers. The bust is missing the fastening button on the robe. If needed, I have photos of how it looked before purchase.
